After several seasons “with many ups and downs”, Fabian Wilkens Solheim draws a line under his skiing career.
The 27-year-old giant slalom specialist from Norway announced this on Instagram: “I had a great time traveling around the world with my teammates. I made friends for life and made great memories all over the world .”
Even if there were no individual successes for the Scandinavian, he can show a medal at both World Championships and Olympic Games. The highlight of his career was the world championship title in the team competition with Norway at the 2021 World Championships in Cortina d’Ampezzo. Solheim was also part of the team that won the bronze medal at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. In the World Cup it was only enough for a top 10 place in Adelboden 2020.
The past season was a disappointing one for the 27-year-old. In addition to several non-qualifications and failures, a 19th place in Alta Badia was the best result for the giant slalom specialist.
