It is the Social Democrats’ Bjarne Laustsen who has decided to stop at the end of this election period – he states this in a press release.
– I must soon have served my military service in the Folketing. Now it applies to family, friends and some of the many chores I have at home in North Jutland, i.a. as chairman of Huset Venture in Nørresundby, and as chairman of the cooperative housing association Blomstermarken, where I live, writes Bjarne Laustsen.
Bjarne Laustsen was elected to the Folketing for the first time in 1992, but dropped out two years later. In 1998, he was then elected again, and has been sitting in the parliament ever since.
Laustsen is 70 years old, and tells TV2 Nord that the baptismal certificate is one of the reasons why he wants to stop at the end of this election period.
