Yesterday evening Apple held the annual keynote with a video event and presented various new devices and their new functions. Although numerous journalists were at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, the keynote speech took place as a video event.
According to Apple, monitoring temperature changes can identify ovulation and provide information regarding any deviations from the “usual” cycle – at least those that can indicate other health problems. This data can be protected with a 2FA.
Another new function is used to detect accidents in vehicles. Several motion sensors are used here, including an accelerometer, a barometer and GPS. In the event of an accident, the stored emergency number is automatically contacted.
The Apple Watch Series 8 has an all-day battery life of 18 hours, but this can be boosted to 36 hours with a new energy-saving mode.
The watch is available in four colors: Midnight, Starlight, Silver and Product Red. There is also a metallic version in silver, gold and graphite. Prices start at 429 francs – the watch will be available from September 16th.
