Lucky us. Barely out of the men’s and women’s Tours de France that we are already switching to the world championships in Scotland. Line racing promises to be magnificent. On paper, anyway, it is. Everyone is present, except Jonas Vingegaard, who doesn’t really have the punch to triumph on such a course. Remco Evenepoel will try to defend his iridescent tunic against his best rivals: Tadej Pogacar, Mathieu Van der Poel and Wout van Aert. If these four do not manage to get away, the finish may suit sprinters like Philipsen, Pedersen and Kooij.
