to update: As we warned, it’s not worth getting excited regarding PlayStation Japan – unless you’re a big fan of pop star Kenshi Yones. Now the infamous tweet teases a new Japanese ad on PlayStation – but it has absolutely nothing to do with backwards compatibility.
The numbers 1, 2, and 3 are the lyrics to the song in the ad — once more, we’re theoretical.
Now look, we know everyone is eager to know what’s next for Sony – and we’re covered! But it is clear that the company has more patience than us.
Anyway, check out the new announcement for you below.
Original story: PlayStation Japan tweet exploded overnight because fans think so may be Induce backward compatibility for PS1, PS2, and PS3. The tweet mocks a new PlayStation announcement – which will launch on January 23 – featuring a new song by Japanese pop star and music producer Kenshi Yonesu.
Where do background guesses come from? Well, the teaser displays the numbers 1, 2, and 3. This impressive ad will air on the same date – once more, in the style of January 23, 1.23 – but why this date, the announcement? Could the exact date be around PS1, PS2 and PS3 games?
Truth be told, this seems to be getting to us – but the focus is on 1 2 3. Will do Raise one eyebrow. We don’t know why Sony is proposing such a big deal in Japan – and only through Twitter. Also, let’s be honest for a moment, the numbers can be associated very easily with the song, and this is the beginning of a new campaign in Japan.
If something happens (at the moment we’re still pessimistic) it means Sony is planning to drop a big ad in the West very late Saturday night or early Sunday. Unusual, but we think strange things have happened.
What do you do with this? As usual, we advise once morest in the comments section below for all reasons.
