Two months before the presidential elections, today Saturday the Venezuelan opposition returned to the streets with the slogan of mobilizing in “swarms” in Venezuela and cities around the planet to insist that their candidate Edmundo Gonzaleznow exiled in Spainwon at the polls.
The protests in Caracas, the Venezuelan capital, and abroad, called by the opposition leader Maria Corina Machadoare also a repeated effort to add support from the international community to their demands.
The electoral authority of Venezuela gave the victory to the president, Nicolas Madurofor a third period.
“Libertarian swarm” in Madrid
Today’s surprise was the presence of Edmundo Gonzalez in the central square Gate of the Sun in Madrid, in one of the largest concentrations of supporters around the world.
Amid cheers from the crowd and shouting “president,” the 75-year-old former diplomat climbed onto a platform and extended the Venezuelan flag, although he did not make any statements.
World outcry!

The past #28 days The Venezuelan people issued a sovereign, clear and unappealable mandate, in favor of change, peace, freedom and democracy. A mandate that must be recognized.

Since the beginning of this September, the former candidate went into exile in Spain, which granted him political asylum after an arrest warrant was issued for the criminal investigation initiated by the Venezuelan Prosecutor’s Office against him, accused of several alleged crimes, such as conspiracy.
“Libertarian swarm” in Caracas
In Caracascovered with tricolor flags and posters of “I join the libertarian swarm”the opposition bases held rallies of dozens of people in various parts of the capital, thus dispelling the expectation of mobilizing “in swarms,” as María Corina Machado had instructed them, from clandestinity.
“This is just a reminder of what it should be: Edmundo Gonzalez won and Maduro “he lost,” he told the Associated Press Lucia Rivasa 47-year-old housewife, who along with 11 other people in a prosperous neighborhood in eastern Caracas read the results of the presidential votes, listened to María Corina Machado’s message and closed the event by singing the National Anthem.

The elections in Venezuela
On July 28, Venezuelans voted to elect the president who will assume a six-year term in January.
He National Electoral Council declared Maduro the winner without exposing the official records, a decision that was ratified in a subsequent ruling by the Supreme Court of Justice —also similar to the government—, but which were rejected by the opposition and the international community.
The opposition assured that it has 84% of the voting records which, it says, give a wide victory to González.
Maria Corina Machadovia his social networks, asked his followers today, Saturday, to remain firm in the demand that the results of the elections be recognized and to continue “giving a testimony to the world”.
She previously instructed the bases so that, organized in “swarms”in an agile and dynamic way, move in safe places.
“Here we are, together, good Venezuelans… those of us who are in our country and those who had to leave for a while, those of us who have opposed this system for a long time and those who now decide to join the change,” said the opposition leader.
At the same time, the ruling party also called on its followers to demonstrate in the capital and other regions to ratify what they call the triumph of Maduro.
