Fanepage and the young people of FdI, the videos of the investigation at the Segre Commission –

John Of Capua

The Segre Commission, which deals with racism and anti-Semitism in the Senate, will acquire the videos released by Fanpage with images of militants and members of the National Youth clubs of the Brothers of Italy party making the fascist salute, praising the Duce and uttering anti-Semitic and racially hateful phrases. According to Adnkronos, this is what was established by the Commission’s presidency office. It was agreed that the request be made by all the groups present, as proposed by Brothers of Italy. The presidency office, which saw Segre via video link, was convened following the letter sent to Segre herself – who is the Commission’s president – by former parliamentarian Elio Vito, who asked to acquire the videos of the journalistic investigation in order to “launch all the initiatives he deems necessary and appropriate to adequately counter such demonstrations which are evidently incompatible with our Constitution and our democratic institutions”.

There is no room for racists and anti-Semites, Meloni writes to FdI leaders

The president of the senators of Fratelli d’Italia, Lucio Malan, commented: «We have firmly supported the request of the Commission chaired by Senator for Life Liliana Segre to acquire all the videos filmed by Fanpage, because as our president Meloni reiterated in Fratelli d’Italia there is no room for racist or anti-Semitic positions. Precisely for this reason we believe it is necessary to investigate the phenomenon of anti-Semitism in all its forms. The gravity of what we have witnessed and heard in these months requires us to investigate with maximum transparency without any reticence or silence».

Lega senator Massimiliano Romeo also welcomed “the acquisition of the footage from the Fanpage investigation. The decision of the commission, under the presidency of Senator Segre, was supported by all the groups and also by the Lega, because it is right to shed light on the matter. Since we are faithful to the principle that on the subject of racial hatred and anti-Semitism it is our duty to clarify, we believe it is equally right to extend the examination by the commission to other content: we think of the serious episodes documented by the press during anti-Israel demonstrations, in which some student groups took part” he concluded.
