FANB reaffirms historical humanist and anti-imperialist mission

Through a statement signed by the Minister of Popular Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) ratified this July 5 its historic mission to “continue building a Republic where social justice, humanism and right to self-determination; and always alert to the vile threats of the new empires.”

This is stated in the text published on the portal of the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense on the occasion of the celebration of the 213th Anniversary of the Solemn Declaration of Independence of Venezuela, Day of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and Day of the Venezuelan Soldier.

The statement highlights the march in civil-military union of the institution “that was born with the Homeland itself”, with a clear concept of comprehensive defense and actively participating in the development of the country.

With nationalist pride, he especially congratulates the people of Venezuela, as well as “the men and women who have embraced the glorious race of arms.”

Furthermore, it ratifies “the unbreakable Bolivarian, anti-oligarchic, anti-imperialist and anti-colonialist vocation, as well as the irreducible commitment to defend social guarantees and the principles of equality, solidarity and peace in our beloved nation.”

Below is the full text of the statement.

As an indelible imprint of national dignity, on July 5, 1811, the irreverent libertarian voices overthrew the gloom of outrage, slavery and ignominy; an undaunted rebellion that, following three hundred years of calm, became the prelude to many battles that would have to be undertaken to crystallize the inalienable dream of independence. The weariness, bravery and honor of illustrious men, among whom Francisco de Miranda, Lino de Clemente, Francisco Isnardi and Juan Germán Roscio stood out, lit the dazzling flame of American emancipation, which in subsequent years would consolidate El Libertador Simón Bolívar, with his colossal and heroic deed.

Almost two centuries later, this free-thinking movement took the form of the Bolivarian Revolution at the hands of Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez, who took up the same famous flags and encouraged the conscience of Venezuelans to achieve full sovereignty. That is why today, filled with joy, we celebrate the 213th Anniversary of the Solemn Declaration of Independence of Venezuela, Day of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and Day of the Venezuelan Soldier; and this institution, which was born with the Homeland itself, now marches undefeated: in perfect civic-military fusion; strengthened in its employment doctrine; with a clear concept of comprehensive defense; modernized in its weapons systems; actively participating in national development; reaffirming the historic mission of continuing to build a Republic where social justice, humanism and the right to self-determination prevail; and always alert to the vile threats of the new empires.

On this superlative anniversary, we congratulate with unfathomable nationalist pride the noble Venezuelan people, and especially, the men and women who have embraced the glorious career of arms, who under the assertive and visionary leadership of citizen Nicolás Maduro Moros, Constitutional President of The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, our Commander in Chief, ratify the unbreakable Bolivarian, anti-oligarchic, anti-imperialist and anti-colonialist vocation, as well as the irreducible commitment to defend social guarantees and the principles of equality, solidarity and peace in our beloved nation.

Long live the sovereign homeland!

Long live the Bolivarian national armed force!

Long live the Venezuelan soldier, the best soldier in the world!

Chávez lives!… The Homeland continues!

Independence and Socialist Homeland! … We will live and win!

The Sun of Venezuela is born in the Essequibo!

Independence or nothing! Always loyal!… Never traitors!
