As the VdF players’ union announced on Tuesday, a protest by the VdF against the decision of the penalty committee of the Carinthian Football Association was upheld on Monday evening. Hinteregger, who plays for SGA Sirnitz in the Carinthian lower house and also trains the club, is now allowed to exercise all functions in football again.

The 32-year-old former international knocked over a fan in the game against Mittlern in mid-September, and the man affected filed a criminal complaint against the former Frankfurt professional. The punishment committee of the Carinthian Association then suspended Hinteregger until all the circumstances surrounding the alleged push were clarified.

The Carinthian Association said that the exact time for a decision in the matter cannot currently be foreseen.
