A fan died on Sunday following falling from a sign next to the Buenos Aires Obelisk, amid a gathering of fans in downtown Buenos Aires for the Copa América final between Argentina and Colombia, official sources reported.
According to the EFE Agency, the man was standing on the letter A (of the vertical garden with the initials BA installed by the City Government as a tourist attraction next to the Obelisk) and a security agent reiterated that he had to get down from there or he would be arrested.
He then fell backwards from a height of regarding 6 metres and, according to information provided by the Ministry of Security of the City of Buenos Aires to the Todo Noticias channel, the fan – who was 29 years old – died instantly.
