During the presentation of the “On My Responsibility” program broadcast on “Sada El Balad” channel, Musa added that the country hosting the African Union, Ethiopia, should be a country of peace, but Addis Ababa is the opposite.
He pointed out that Ethiopia decided, starting last January, to “occupy part of Somaliland, which is an Arab country in the Arab League, and what applies to it applies to all Arab countries.”
He explained that “what is known as Somaliland is not recognized by anyone except Ethiopia, and it is a separatist movement, and Ethiopia wanted to direct it to build a port on an area of 20 kilometers for a period of fifty years.”
Media figure Ahmed Moussa stressed that “Egypt and all Arab countries rejected the Ethiopian measures in Somaliland, and the attempt to impose a fait accompli and support separatist movements.”
He pointed out that “Somalia’s area is 640 thousand square kilometers and its population is about 20 million people,” noting that Egypt’s approach to Somalia is based on their requests, and “Egypt always does not interfere in the affairs of any country.”
The Egyptian media figure explained that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi had previously said, “Egypt will not abandon Somalia and will help it, and no one will be allowed to control its land and impose a fait accompli, and this was in the presence of the Somali president.”
He pointed out that “there are Egyptian forces present in Somalia as part of the peacekeeping forces, in addition to training and assisting the Somali forces, and this is done by the Egyptian Armed Forces in cooperation with the rest of the state institutions.”
Ahmed Moussa concluded his speech by saying, “The Egyptian movement in the past period has created momentum and solidarity from the Egyptian people, and they see it as extremely positive, with the exception of the deviant group, the enemies of the country, which is the Brotherhood, who support Ethiopia in this position.”
