Seunghan, a member of the group Rise, who is embroiled in controversy over his personal life, will eventually suspend team activities indefinitely.
SM Entertainment, his agency, said, “Seunghan is sincerely sorry and reflects on the disappointment and confusion he has caused not only to the team and members but also to his fans due to issues related to his private life that have recently been leaked and distributed without permission through SNS and online communities. “We are doing it,” he said on the 22nd.
SM explained, “Seunghan felt a psychological burden and responsibility due to this, and following deep consideration, he expressed his intention to stop activities for the sake of the team. We also decided that it would be unreasonable to continue activities under these circumstances.”
He added, “We have decided to suspend activities indefinitely out of respect for his opinion that he does not want to cause any further harm to the team and members.”
Rise is a new SM boy group that debuted last September and gained popularity with ‘Get A Guitar’ selling over 1 million copies. With Seunghan taking an indefinite hiatus from team activities, Rise will be active with 6 members excluding him from this day on.
SM, however, said, “The videos and photos that are currently being leaked and distributed without permission were taken during private time during my trainee days before my debut, and they were intentionally edited several times to cause misunderstanding through secondary editing, such as using screen captures using videos with identified sources. “It was reproduced,” he claimed.
At the same time, they announced that they plan to identify the person who leaked and distributed the video without permission and file a complaint with the police this followingnoon.
