One person was killed and another seriously injured in a shooting between members of the same family at an Atlanta hospital, authorities said.
The incident occurred late Sunday at Grady Memorial Hospital, police said.
Family members had gone there following another incident in DeKalb County, Deputy Sheriff Charles Hampton said.
“What we know is that the incident started in DeKalb County, and some family members from there went to the Grady’s ER,” Hampton told reporters at the scene, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “There a dispute broke out that degenerated into a shootout.”
The situation was quickly brought under control and there was no major threat to the population, Hampton said. Police are looking for three individuals in connection with the incident.
Police have not identified any suspects, but Hampton said detectives suspect they are all members of the same family.
