According to our interlocutor, the decision was taken by the family of the young man who was savagely beaten, on the outskirts of his home, in the Fossuco neighborhood, in the municipality of Cazenga, for having been accused of being an alleged thief by a 17-year-old teenager, the who the deceased approached to collect a debt incurred through the transfer of a sports betting chip (Angofoot game) Emanuel Augusto, who is also a pastor of a church, said that the deceased was never marginalized nor was he associated with bad company.

The National Police spokesperson, Nestor Goubel, assured that, last Saturday, they had already detained two citizens, namely the teenager and one of the young men who allegedly participated in the attack. The superintendent said that, following the attack, the young man was taken to the hospital, but he did not survive his injuries and ended up dying two days later, that is, on Thursday, 29. To the young man, whose fury at his tormentors was awakened by a scream that identified him as a thief, several blunt objects were thrown, such as blocks, bottles, stones and sticks.

A situation that was witnessed by the young woman, the author of the scream, who refused to settle the debt she had contracted. Provisional data indicates that Caleb Nzinga, who worked at a sports betting house, met the young woman (Solange) at a church and they became friends. Which is why the sports betting technician did not refuse to give him a chip as credit.

Nestor Goubel explained that, as the accused did not have the amount available at the time, she borrowed money from young Caleb, with the promise of returning it in the following days, which did not materialize. “The musician insisted that his friend return the money to present the correct account to the company. He ended up meeting her, at her house, in order to obtain the amounts, the amount of which was not revealed”, he clarified.

Therefore, due to the young woman’s resistance to returning the amounts, Caleb decided to take her phone as collateral, so that she might return the borrowed money the next day. “But she was very cunning, since when Caleb made the gesture of receiving the phone, the girl shouted thief, thief”, he detailed.

The senior police officer also said that some young people from the neighborhood came out of the house and began cruelly attacking the deceased until he lost consciousness. Caleb Nzinga, faced with the brutal aggression, said that he was not a thief, but the enraged citizens chose to take justice into their own hands, mistreating the innocent young man. Nestor Goubel stated that the National Police advises the population not to take justice into their own hands. But refer cases to the legal authorities.
