Family Health Units built in Ypané and San Antonio register 45% progress

Assumption, IP Agency. – Under strict sanitary measures, the construction of the four Family Health Units (USF), financed by Itaipu Binacional, continues in the towns of Ypané and San Antonio; they are 45% complete.

The bulletin sent from Itaipu states that these works are part of the group of 21 USF built in the Central department whose work employs an average of 25 workers from the area and helps families generate income in this difficult time of pandemic.

The important undertaking seeks to contribute to the preventive health of the most vulnerable population and has its replica in the department of Alto Paraná, the plant’s area of ​​influence, where 21 USF are also under construction in various locations. In total, the 42 health centers will benefit more than 200,000 inhabitants.

The Entity’s works prosecutor, engineer Juan Vass, stated that in Ypané the construction of the USF in the Brisas del Sur and Paso de Oro neighborhoods has reached the height of the ceiling, respectively. Similarly, the USF that are being built in San Antonio, in the Antigua Imagen and San Roque neighborhoods, present the same progress in construction.

The work in the new USF in Central and Alto Paraná has made it possible to keep jobs active and boost the economy in the construction sector during the time of the health quarantine implemented in the country to stop the expansion of covid-19.

For the venture, Itaipu has allocated an amount of 58,452 million guaraníes to strengthen primary health care in the country.
