Family doctors aspire to an average of 10 minutes per consultation | Society

Family doctors want to “free up time” and stop doing bureaucratic tasks that do not correspond to them and aspire to dedicate an average of 10 minutes to each consultation to meet a greater demand from chronic patients with other ailments and people with mental health disorders.

The president of the Spanish Society of General and Family Physicians (SEMG), Antonio Fernández-Pro, explains this in an interview with Efe, who stresses that care for the chronically ill “who stayed at home during the pandemic for fear of going out” and mental health, especially in adolescents, who have been very affected these two years, will be on the table at the XVIII Congress of Family Medicine, which is being held this week in Bilbao.
