Under the patronage of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, the Department of Family Development and its branches, one of the institutions of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, organized, on Wednesday in Sharjah, a digital session entitled “Our Gulf is a Family”, presented by the media, Laila Al Balushi, Director of the Department Institutional communication with the administration, in which Dr. Ismail Al Buraimi, Head of Religious Awareness Department at the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah, spoke on the occasion of the Gulf Family Day, which was launched by the Executive Office of the Council of Labor Ministers and the Council of Ministers of Social Affairs in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and it was decided to adopt it on September 14 of each year. The motto of this session is “a connected family for a sustainable tomorrow”.
The session discussed several axes, the most important of which are: family values ​​in the Gulf countries and their impact on preparing a generation that keeps pace with change; While the last axis focused on the best practices and policies to support childhood in the Gulf countries, family bonding, and presented some successful community and institutional practices in supporting the family, to enhance the role of institutions in the family and social field to build a stable family system. The session focused on interventions from inside and outside the country, all of which are focused on The Gulf family and its interdependence in the region from all walks of life.
Al-Balushi said at the beginning of the session: We are a management whose goal is the family, deepening the bonds of cohesion of its members, preserving the family entity and its identity, and supporting the value system that supports it, stressing that the Development Department focuses its strategy, during the next five years, on providing specialized family guidance, and quality programs carefully directed to all individuals.
She reviewed the efforts of the Family Development Department, noting that, during the course of 22 years, it and its branches provided many initiatives and programs directed to the family and all members of society, as well as many studies and research, as well as a specialized family counseling service, which became a role model in caring for the family and supporting its cohesion and stability.
Dr. Ismail Al Buraimi spoke regarding a number of issues and topics of importance and priority to the family, opportunities, challenges and Gulf family values, and their impact on preparing a more effective generation to meet future challenges. He stressed the importance of maintaining family cohesion and care, which His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah always affirms, with the aim of preparing future generations capable of advancing their societies and facing changes.
He explained that the family constitutes the basic building block for building societies, being the first environment for children, and the cornerstone of any society. .
