Family business since 1955: Vorchdorfer Fleischerei had to file for bankruptcy

The family business applied for restructuring proceedings at the Wels regional court on Monday, with the aim of continuing operations. The company’s structure will be adapted to the changed market environment – especially the increased raw material and energy prices, it said.

Massive bad debts

The butcher shop has existed since 1955 and produces, among other things, regional sausage and ham specialties as well as meat dishes for restaurants and canteens. According to the company’s own statements, the bankruptcy occurred due to massive bad debts in Italy and Austria.

As the Alpine Creditors Association reports, fixed funds from customers – 350,000 euros – are said to have not been paid. The total liabilities amount to 3.7 million euros. 25 employees and 182 creditors, including around 89 farmers, are affected by the bankruptcy.
