“I and the Parliamentary Group and the president of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis, were also informed, both from the video and from the minutes, about this unacceptable behavior.
Our colleague Mrs. Linou was on the committee and apologized and the health department head Mr. Panagiotopoulos expressed to the colleague and to the Parliament, the apology and the need to observe ethics and the inviolable principle, the moral and political principle that it must distinguish us all, much more the left-wing politicians”, said the President of the SYRIZA KO Sokratis Famellos and informed the Speaker of the Parliament that “following the proposal of the SYRIZA President Stefanos Kasselakis, there will be a letter from the president of the SYRIZA KO that Mr. Polakis is excluded from the KO of SYRIZA.
“At the level of behavior I have to condemn it and we condemn it as a whole. It is a shocking behavior which does not correspond to our own principles and the parliamentary process”, said the president of the KO of SYRIZA and added, addressing the president of the Parliament:
“Some of the expressions you used do not agree with me. But I think you should also revisit this a bit, but it’s not the dominant and major thing. The main thing is that Pavlos Polakis is put out of KO and that the incident was unacceptable. And since we ought not to indulge ourselves in some expressions which may attract attention, we and you and all of us ought to observe this rule, for we have had other similar incidents in the parliament.
You remember the handiwork, you remember other issues that concern us all. They are not the same nor do I make any set-off, I mean we have to protect the overall democratic functioning and our own image. Unfortunately, it is a serious problem that affects the credibility of the policy and that is why they must be very clear in everything that we submit today. It has troubled us as well, it has upset the entire Parliamentary Group and I think our entire party as well.”
