The only women’s fight on the Fame MMA 22 card at the PGE National Stadium was Marta “Linkimaster” Linkiewicz’s clash with Karolina Owczarz, known well for her performances in KSW. The 2011 Polish women’s boxing champion entered the fight as a sure-fire favorite, but at the same time had to deal with the pressure that comes with it.

Linkiewicz tried to distance her rival and impose her own pace from the beginning of the fight. Karolina Owczarz, who looked slightly overwhelmed, was looking for blows with her left hand. But that didn’t last long. “Linkimaster” quickly landed a strong right, and the commentators even screamed. Later, knees also came into play, but the referee had to stop their exchange after a while.
At the end of the 1st round, Owczarz unfortunately received a punch with a finger right to the right eye, and the referee called a break. It was obvious that the KSW fighter had a big problem and was suffering, but she was given time to deal with the unfortunate injury. Even a doctor had to intervene. But fortunately, Owczarz was able to continue the fight.

Karolina Owczarz’s advantage grew with time. The 31-year-old had to be on her guard, however, because her opponent’s “ripostes” were hitting their target. “Linkimaster” was definitely not scared by her much more experienced and titled opponent, and commentators agreed that she did much better in the second round than in the first. In their opinion, the third round was to decide the outcome of the fight.
In the last round of the duel, neither of the ladies took a step back – there was no shortage of intense exchanges and even combination actions. However, Karolina Owczarz landed more often and it was her who the judges indicated as the winner after the final sound signal. The decision in this case was not unanimous. Marta Linkiewicz showed herself from a very good side against the background of a “professional”, but her victory was a complete surprise.
Owczarz had a look of huge surprise on her face. She didn’t expect the judges to give the win to her opponent, who entered the fight as an underdog.
