Famagusta Municipality has started the necessary work within the framework of the State Law.

Pursuant to article 94 of the 51/95 municipalities law, all products weighed and sold within the boundaries of the municipality are now inspected through an application initiated by the Famagusta Municipality Open Market and Bazaar Unit.

Thanks to this application, which covers all markets, bazaars, markets, hotels and restaurants in the city, it is aimed to prevent tax evasion from the state and waiting period on the goods sold.

Famagusta Municipality Open Market and Bazaar Unit Responsible Burak Kumsal told BRT regarding the details.

Kumsal stated that in accordance with the Market Law, which is currently in effect, municipalities are obliged to collect service and weighing tax on all products weighed and sold within their borders, and in this context, they have started the practice of checking whether bazaars, markets, markets, hotels and restaurants meet the requirements of the law.

Kumsal, who wants everyone to be sensitive regarding paying these taxes, reminded that otherwise the municipality has the authority to collect and seize these goods and underlined that they are not in favor of this practice.

Burak Kumsal stated that in the inspections carried out in the city, it was observed that the laws were observed in general, and that he believed that some problems would be eliminated thanks to the implementation, and asked that the pre-submission to the municipality regarding the shipment of goods should not be ignored.
