False statement that Modi forced Adani to sign the contract: Sri Lankan president broke the lie

Colombo: Ceylon Electricity Board chairman accuses Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making false allegations. He alleged during a question and answer session in Parliament that Modi had forced President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to hand over the contract for the wind farm in Sri Lanka to Gautam Adani. He had said that the information was given to him by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

However he acknowledged that their numbers were not enough to defeat President Ferdinand’s statement. The allegations were dropped when the president made it clear that he did not approve of giving such a plan to any particular person.

However, this made big news and was hailed by the anti-Modi media. News portals such as The Wire and The News Minute reported the news with great importance, but the accusation turned into a teacup storm as the president took a tough stance.
