False alarm forces Charles III and Camilla to evacuate during visit to Jersey

This Monday, during a visit to the island of Jersey In the English Channel, King Charles III and Queen Camilla were evacuated from an open-air exhibition due to a security incident. However, it was later confirmed to be a “false alarm”.

According to a statement released by local media, a royal spokesperson said that Camilla was enjoying an ice cream when one of her companions approached her and whispered something in her ear. After this, the monarchs were escorted to the Pomme d’Or hotel in St. Helier, the island’s capital.

A member of the organization alerted regarding a possible danger, so the visit was stopped, a complete review of the area was carried out and the safety of the important people was guaranteed. The authorities confirmed that there was no risk and shortly following the program was resumed as planned.

It is the first time a British monarch has visited the island since 2005, when Elizabeth II marked the 800th anniversary of Jersey’s loyalty to the monarchy. It also marks the return of Charles and Camilla to Jersey following twelve years.

On Tuesday, Charles and Camilla are expected to conclude their official visit on the island of Guernsey, where a ceremony will be held in the capital, Saint Peter Port, to pay tribute to the monarch.
