Hungry for sport, he grew up to the sound of Formula 1 engines and the exploits of Ronaldinho. Today, with a Master’s degree in sports journalism, he no longer misses an F1 Grand Prix or a PSG match, his two passions and specialties.

This summer, OM aimed to drastically strengthen its offensive sector, which was done with the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. But before that, the Marseille club also tried to recruit Falorin Balogun who finally signed with AS Monaco at the end of the transfer window. A choice that he explained.

Author of a magnificent season with Reims while it was on loan from Arsenal, Falorin Balogun had a lively summer. Given his performances, he has attracted the interest of many clubs, includingABOUT. The hypothesis of staying with the Gunners has also circulated. But it is ultimately up toAS Monaco which he signed. And Balogun also returns to his transfer window.

Balogun looks back on his turbulent summer…

“Arteta didn’t say much to me, he just said well done when I came back and encouraged me to continue. When I came back during preseason, I wanted to see if I fit into his plans and if I might continue to play some matches. He told me he would try to involve me as best he might, but he also told me that the people above him were making decisions regarding me and seeing what would be best for me. . The dialogue between him and I was good, but it depended more on the club, on what he wanted to do,” confided the American striker to ESPN, before justifying his signing toAS Monaco.

…and justifies his transfer to AS Monaco

“It wasn’t in my hands, that’s what I perceived. (…) Going to France? I took this risk, I sat down with my agent and my family and I said to myself: I know I have the ability to do this and I’m going to do this and I’m almost going to prove you wrong. In the end, I succeeded. It’s a lot harder than I make it out to be. There have been a lot of challenges, especially off the field, it has helped me develop as a man. (…) If I came to Monaco and if I managed to improve my season from last year, I felt that it would be a very good addition for me and that we might achieve good things,” adds Falorin Balogun.
