Fallout 4 Next-Generation Update Delayed to 2024: What to Expect from Bethesda

British gaming media Eurogamer reported on the 13th (local time) that Bethesda postponed the next-generation update scheduled to be applied to the open world adventure game Fallout 4 within this year to 2024.

Bethesda announced that it is developing a next-generation update for Fallout 4 at the 25th anniversary event of the Fallout series in October 2022.

With this update, Fallout 4 will have performance and resolution mode options and support higher refresh rates and 4K resolution. Additionally, bug fixes and additional Creation Club content will be added.

Bethesda said on social media, “Thank you for your patience as we develop the next-generation update for Fallout 4. We know you are looking forward to it, but we need more time.”

Fallout 4 is an open world adventure game released in 2015 and is set in the United States, which was in ruins following a nuclear war. It received favorable reviews for its improved combat and exploration fun compared to the previous work, as well as settlement construction elements, but it was produced with an outdated engine even by the standards of the time, and was disappointing with inferior graphics.
