Bad weather in Piedmont. Strong thunderstorms occurred this afternoon especially in the areas of Turin and Cuneo, with rain, wind and hail. Heavy rain in the Piedmont capital, where the bad weather caused several damages and cases of falling trees and damage to roofs were also reported.

Persistent rain is making it difficult to clear debris from a landslide that spilled onto provincial road 23 at km 68+800, in the Depot di Fenestrelle area. The Road Service of the Metropolitan City of Turin “immediately intervened this afternoon to deal with the landslide,” the Metropolitan City reports on its website. “The road workers of the Perosa Argentina and Pinerolo districts – it continues – are regulating traffic with an alternating one-way system, and the company in charge immediately intervened to remove the landslide material with a shovel and an excavator. However, the ongoing operations are being made difficult by persistent rain.”
