Mediatonic announced on Monday that its battle royale Fall Guys, launched in 2020, was going to become free in June. The game will also debut on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox consoles, in addition to introducing cross-play.
The change for a model free-to-play from Fall Guys will arrive alongside an all-new season titled Free For Allwhich will feature new challenges and rewards as well as fun new boards.
Of course, who says free-to-play also says microtransactions. A new virtual currency called Show-Bucks can be used to purchase the Season Pass.
Players will be happy to hear that cross-play and cross-platform progression will also be possible with this update. That’s good, because the PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and Epic Games versions will be released at the same time!
Cross-platform progression will be possible through the account system of Epic Games, which bought Mediatonic in 2021.
What if I have already purchased the game?
If you have already purchased Fall GuysMediatonic will give you cosmetic options in a Legacy Pack as well as a seasonal pass Free For All free. In other words: lots of costumes!
You can enjoy Fall Guys for free, as well as on new consoles, starting June 21, 2022.
