A few days ago, Mediatonic, the developer behind Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, made an appointment with fans for a big announcement. The latter has now been revealed.
Fall Guys, bientôt free-to-play ?
Since Mediatonic spoke on April 13, speculation has been rife regarding Fall Guys : Ultimate Knockout : “will the title have the right to a Nintendo Switch version?”, “will the game land on Xbox?” or “will the general public Battle-Royale become free-to-play?”. Know that the fans were right to ask all these questions, since they aimed right three times.
Indeed, Epic Games has just announced the, or rather, the good news: in addition to landing on Nintendo Switch and Xbox consoles, Fall Guys, like Rocket Leagueit will become free-to-play. The title will therefore be available for free on all platforms from June 21.
For the occasion, we also learn that the game will be cross-play and cross-progression. In other words, friends who do not have the same machine will still be able to play together, and players who have several consoles will be able to keep their saves from one platform to another.
Gifts for first-time buyers
We learn at the same time that this new life for Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will be accompanied by a whole new season. The latter, soberly titled “Season One”, remains very mysterious, but already promises “stacks of new challenges and new rewards” as well as “major updates for the progression system”.
Better still, players who have already purchased the game on PC or PlayStation 4 will also be entitled to a nice surprise, namely the Legacy Pack which includes costume packs as well as the game’s first Season Pass.
In order to thank the global community of Fall Guys players for their support of the game since its launch, we decided to reward players who have purchased the game by giving them the Legacy Pack, containing shiny cosmetics as well as the first Season Pass. The Season Pass is a supercharged new version of the game’s free progression system that can be purchased with the new in-game currency, Show-Bucks.
