In a debate that RCN News carried out on March 21 Federico Gutierrez and Sergio Fajardo They scolded each other harshly.
Gutiérrez infuriated Fajardo following saying that he was “the spokesman” for Gustavo Petro, the presidential candidate of Colombia Humana, who did not attend the meeting.
“Federico was given steroids in this consultation, the steroids of the National Government. Former President Uribe secretly said that we had to vote for him. That explains such a big jump”, Fajardo replied later, referring to the intention that Gutiérrez obtained in The Great Survey. In just one month, Gutiérrez went from registering 3% to 19%.
The former mayor of Medellín, however, pointed out that his is an independent candidacy and said that although many sectors support him, the only ones with whom he would not make alliances are “the violent and the corrupt.”
In the debate, there were also the presidential candidate of Oxígeno Verde, Ingrid Betancourt, and the candidate for National Salvation, Enrique Gómez. Although the candidate of the Historical Pact, Gustavo Petrowas also invited, did not attend the appointment.
In fact, earlier he had announced that he would not attend debates once more “until the transparency of the vote is guaranteed.” And he asked international observers to put a magnifying glass on the recount process, which might take place in the coming days, at the request of President Iván Duque and the registrar Alexander Vega.
Petro, however, was a recurring topic of conversation during the RCN News debate. In fact, Gutiérrez took with him a photo of the left-wing candidate and used it to criticize him. “Since we are used to not seeing him in the debates, I brought them to him,” Gutiérrez assured. And he pointed out that he was behind the protests of the National Strike and economic inflation.
For his part, Petro limited himself to sharing the image of the former mayor of Medellín holding his Photo.
