The report that a mountain hiker left his mountaineer exhausted and lay down calmly in the mountain hut to sleep (“Alpinist left comrades on trail”, SN of 8/22/2023) really shook me! Is that mountain companionship 4.0? I can only hope that the mountain rescue service reported this “mountain comrade” to the police for failing to provide assistance and that he was made more aware of the meanness of his actions.
