Moscow: Shortly following the failure of Russia’s lunar mission Luna 25, a scientist who was part of the mission was hospitalized following his health deteriorated. Astronomer Mikhail Marov, 90, one of the main guides of the mission, was admitted to the hospital, the Independent reported, citing the national media.
Luna-25 crashed just before soft landing on the lunar surface. Immediately following this, Marov was admitted to the hospital on Saturday. Marov responded to the media that the failure of the mission caused him great grief and that it harmed his health.
“I am currently under observation in the hospital. How can I not worry? It is the most important thing in life. “All this is very sad,” Marov told the media following being treated at Moscow’s Central Clinical Hospital. He was also part of Russia’s previous lunar missions.
It is sad that we might not land on the moon. Marov added that for him, Luna 25 was the last hope for the revival of the lunar mission program. Marov said he thought the cause of the mission’s failure would be closely scrutinized.
Luna-25 lost control while changing its orbit and crashed on the lunar surface. The probe lost control while trying to get it into orbit just before landing on the moon.
