INDONESIAN women’s doubles pair, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti lost to Malaysian pair, Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan. Apri/Fadia are confirmed not to continue their journey at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Apri/Fadia lost to Tan/Muralitharan in the final match of Group A at La Chapelle Arena, Paris on Tuesday (30/7). Apri/Fadia lost two straight games with a score of 18-21 and 9-21.
“Of course I’m sad, sad and disappointed, because I lost all three matches, but I’m grateful for the Olympics. I will continue to process for the future,” said Fadia in her statement, (30/7).
Fadia said that they learned a lot of lessons after being eliminated from the 2024 Paris Olympics. Moreover, this was the first time they had participated in the Olympics.
“The most valuable lesson for me, especially since this is the first Olympics for me, the journey here is not easy either,” said Fadia.
“From us, it’s very short, slowly until 2022, there were ups and downs, we were injured too, there were also many struggles that we went through, of course the most valuable lessons to continue the process,” he added.

Meanwhile, Apri said that in the match they could not escape from the opponent’s pressure at all. In fact, he admitted that they had brought out all their abilities.
“Earlier we were quite pressured by their game too, then they were also quite controlling, so they also wanted to win, seeing that their chances were very big too, we actually just gave our best too. Good luck to you and your friends,” said Apri.
However, he still took the positive side of the defeat and was officially eliminated from the Paris Olympics.

“In this Olympics, hopefully we can have another chance at the 2028 Olympics,” said Apri.
“After this, we will try to accept something that has happened, whether it’s me or Fadia, we will release it first, we will be fresher first, maybe we can ask again a month later. For now, we want to try to recover ourselves first,” he added.
