Makram: A step that is consistent with the vision of the political leadership to achieve sustainable development
The Fahim Foundation for Psychological Support and the Decent Life Foundation signed a cooperation protocol to train the employees and volunteers of the Decent Life Foundation and raise their awareness of the importance of mental health, and to participate in launching medical convoys for mental health for the most needy groups, led by those with special needs.
Ambassador Nabila Makram, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Fahim, said that the Foundation achieved many achievements and concluded more partnerships with various parties during the year 2023, which ended in cooperation with the Decent Life Foundation to provide psychological support to the Foundation’s employees and all its volunteers.
She explained that “Hayat Karima” has been able over the past years to implement initiatives in various fields and has proven that it is able to reach deserving families in various governorates, cities and villages most in need.
She praised the Foundation’s role in supplying the brothers in the Gaza Strip with all relief needs and supplies, and the presence of the Foundation and its volunteers in various areas, especially remote ones.
Makram said that this step is consistent with the vision of the political leadership, which seeks to achieve sustainable development in various fields through cooperation and partnership between all development partners.
She added that the cooperation between the Fahim and Hayat Karima Foundations seeks to preserve and build people, in addition to taking care of their mental health, which is the role played by the Fahim Foundation.
According to the protocol, the cadres within the Dignified Life Foundation will be trained by psychiatrists and specialists within the Fahim Foundation, and will participate in all events, conferences and camps that the Foundation holds with all parts of the country.
Lamees Najm, a member of the Board of Directors of the Fahim Foundation for Psychological Support, explained that the protocol will contribute to enhancing the mental health of the most needy groups, especially people of determination, as the Foundation is keen to strengthen joint efforts with various parties to serve all groups deserving of psychological support.
She pointed out that “Fahim” works to provide psychological consultations to raise the level of community awareness regarding mental illnesses, provide support to patients and their families, support children and youth to confront their psychological problems, and work to detect the disease early.
During the past period, the Foundation was keen to communicate with school and university students and young people, in cooperation with Health, Population, Youth and Sports and the National Council for Women, to raise awareness of mental health, and aims to have more partnerships in this framework during the coming period.
For her part, Marwa Fakhri, Executive Director of the Decent Life Foundation, said that the Foundation is keen to focus on psychological awareness, and it conducts periodic convoys in various governorates and villages, to address the psychological imbalance in which some families live as a result of life pressures.
She explained that “A Decent Life” is keen to create a healthy work environment, and it is difficult to achieve this without taking into account the mental health of the organization’s leaders and volunteers before the deserving families, in order to enable them to provide the best possible service.
Last year, “A Decent Life” launched the “Speak, We Will Hear You” initiative, which is the Foundation’s first initiative to support mental health. The Foundation is keen to promote a culture of mental health and spread awareness among the beneficiaries of “Decent Life” projects.
