Saving hammer for federal police!

The police in Germany is hopelessly understaffed on weekends – and should still be saved!

This emerges from explosive classified information from the federal police, which BILD was able to see. Accordingly, on weekends from January to May 2022, the police forces of the federal states were missing “up to 3068 police officers”. On average, regarding 1,700 officials were missing.

Unbelievable: According to the secret paper, the federal police should only receive 500 instead of the required 1240 posts. And this despite the fact that federal police officers stand in for the state police on weekends as a reserve (“loss liability”)!

But that’s not all: Faeser will save the Federal Police a total of around 497 million euros between 2023 and 2026. There remain 4.9 billion euros, 9.3 percent of the required requirement were deleted.

Faeser cuts costs when purchasing protected vehicles, drones and anti-drone defenses, as well as boats. There are also savings on anti-terrorist training and vehicle maintenance.

Faeser’s State Secretary Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter argued in a letter to Michael Brand (CDU) that this was an “adequate estimate” with which the federal police might continue “performing their duties”.
