The project that FAdeA will complete in the last quarter of this year could be historic. Another international alliance could join the production of the six-piece package currently produced for Embraer’s KC-390 aircraft.

Akaer, a Brazilian company specializing in aerospace and defense solutions, announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Cordoba-based national company to begin exploring new opportunities for joint projects, including manufacturing and engineering services for next-generation aerospace structures.

The directors of FAdeA tried to appear calm, although they knew that if this memorandum of understanding between the two companies progressed, it would be a great step that would start to balance the accounts of the national company without the distance being included There are still a few days left on the list.

The agreement with Akar culminates in a joint development project for new technologies in aerospace parts manufacturing and assembly, already in partnership with Embraer, the world’s third-largest aircraft manufacturer. The strategic collaboration also includes the development of engineering services for the modification, conversion and upgrade of civil and military aircraft.

Akaer CEO César Silva said while shaking hands with directors: “The strong alliance between Akaer and FAdeA represents a strategic alliance that has the potential to bring about significant technological advances and enhance the competitiveness of both companies in international markets.

Working with Hercules aircraft in Fadea

In 2023, 89% of the company’s work was for the Argentine state. With the advent of liberal governments and budget cuts, it became necessary to find other real sources of resources. The company currently has 757 employees, a number that has decreased by 18% since 2019.

The strategic vision of the current management is to develop everything possible with the country – someone must take care of the national fleet – to adopt policies to revive failed agreements and win new international markets. The goal is to achieve 50% national income and 50% foreign income in the next few years.

This will not only make FAdeA an international company producing parts, but will also open up a range of possibilities for professional aircraft maintenance services for major commercial airlines. In addition to the economic impact on the region, it will mainly have an impact on local suppliers.

“Akaer is confident in the potential of this partnership, which will undoubtedly leverage our experience and innovation capabilities to contribute to the sustainable development of both companies,” the Brazilian CEO said.

But not everything will be reduced to industrial capacity, but population and university capacity are often the keys to reaching a deal. The province offers an almost bizarre combination in the world: raw materials, a qualified workforce and engineers trained at local universities.

Agreement with Embraer

Embraer is the world’s third-largest aircraft manufacturer, behind Boeing and Airbus, which battle each year for first place. FAdeA is a strategic supplier of one of its aircraft, the C-390, which is very similar in shape to the Hercules but much newer.

The aircraft’s current sales are growing across the board. FAdeA has delivered 17 aircraft so far, and the company announced that they have agreed to sell 140 C-390s until 2028. That said, the collaboration with the Brazilian company is still a few years away.

FDeA’s business of the future: Recovering what was lost

In 2018, a commercial aircraft maintenance agreement was signed with Latin American aviation services provider Abu Dhabi. FAdeA lost its Chilean authorization after a series of unfavorable reviews. This loss has a significant impact on the numbers. For example, the possibility of charging for the “Cordoba service” with 40 Airbus 320 aircraft was lost.

This is a strategic agreement and a source of dollar generation, with no need to import parts as everything is local labor. Now, in order to resume “maintenance” at Boeing and Airbus, personnel are sent abroad for training. This would open up the possibility of another partnership with LATAM Airlines Chile and the addition of Flybondi and Jetsmart.
