Facts after Facts – What are the challenges facing Donald Tusk’s government? Małgorzata Niezabitowska and Aleksander Hall comment

In the “Fakty po Faktach” program on TVN24, Piotr Marciniak’s guests discussed the first months of activity of Donald Tusk’s government. – It is still far too early to assess the progress of this government. Of course, a change of government was necessary – said Aleksander Hall, an opposition activist in the Polish People’s Republic, minister in the government of Tadeusz Mazowiecki. He added that “for now, we can say that there has been a significant change in foreign policy.” – The result of this change is the unblocking of funds from the KPO. The process of rebuilding the institutions of the rule of law state has begun. Minister Adam Bodnar is acting prudently here, said Hall. According to Małgorzata Niezabitowska (former spokesman for Tadeusz Mazowiecki’s government, former journalist of “Tygodnik Solidarność”), “a lot has been done, but it is also necessary to show very clearly what has not been done and why.” – For me, the most important thing is that Poland has returned to the first league when it comes to our position in the international arena. For eight years we were the pariah of Europe, disregarded and completely alone, of course at the government’s own request. Most of what was created to make Poland’s position relatively strong was wasted, Niezabitowska said.

Later in the program, Piotr Marciniak talked regarding record temperatures in February and climate change with atmospheric physicists Dr. Joanna Remiszewska-Michalak and Professor Szymon Malinowski.
