A number of users have been sharing a screenshot on social media platform X since August 8 that purportedly showed a statement by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif saying that he would apologize to PTI founder Imran Khan.
Fact check revealed that the above screenshot is fake and there is no truth in it. It should be noted that since the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan, the tension between PTI and Muslim League (N) has increased. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was ousted from power in April 2022.
Last Thursday, PTI supporter Falak Javed Khan shared an image of a screenshot of a local news channel showing a statement of Prime Minister Shehbaz’s address at a conference. In the statement attributed to the Prime Minister, it has been said that if Imran Khan does not agree, we will apologize.

The alleged statement was also shared by PTI supporter Arslan Baloch on X, with the caption saying ‘Go apologize, he has a big heart, maybe he will forgive. This post received over 42,000 views.
This photo was also described by journalist Sabi Kazmi Share What did Analysis of the screenshot revealed that it was telecasted by media outlet New News.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed a conference of scholars on August 8. A check by New News on the official YouTube upload of the address revealed that the prime minister did not make any statement or mention Imran’s name anywhere like the screenshot shared.
