investigation

To know the truth of the viral video clip of Congress leader Kamal Nath, first scanned the Facebook page of ‘Madhya Pradesh Congress’. A video was found on the page on 16 April. The viral clip can be seen in this video of over four minutes duration. In the video, the journalist can be seen asking Kamal Nath questions on the murder of Atiq Ahmed. Kamal Nath can be seen saying, “Very sad. Today these murders which are happening openly, what do they indicate that what is our law and order. What politics is happening now in Uttar Pradesh and in our country. Clear murders are happening. One day belongs to someone, one day belongs to someone’s brother. What is this sign? This is a matter for all of you to think regarding, not just for me to think regarding. It is a matter for the whole society to think that where our country and where Uttar Pradesh is being dragged. If this incident happened in Uttar Pradesh, which is the biggest state, it is a matter of great misfortune. In this, I think that the judges of the Supreme Court should take cognizance of this matter themselves and it should be thoroughly investigated.

During a keyword search, the full version of the viral clip was found on the YouTube channel up to MP3. It was uploaded on 16 April. After 32 seconds, the entire statement of Kamal Nath can be seen.

Kamal Nath’s media advisor Piyush Babele told Vishvas News that Kamal Nath has said the same thing that the UP government is doing. The UP government itself has set up an inquiry into the Atiq Ahmed murder case. Kamal Nath’s video is being shared with the false claim that it is half-cut.

Taking the investigation further, Vishvas News contacted Anand Jat, Vice President of Madhya Pradesh Congress Media Department. He told that the video of Kamal Nath is incomplete. The situation will become clear following watching the entire video. Kamal Nath said this while raising questions on the law and order situation in UP.

At the end of the investigation, the Facebook user who posted the misleading post was investigated. It was learned that Facebook user Vishnu Dangi is a resident of Madhya Pradesh. More political posts were found on its account.

Conclusion: Vishvas News found the viral post and video to be misleading. Kamal Nath did not express grief over the killing of Atiq Ahmed. Rather, he said something sad regarding the legal system of UP. The incomplete part of his statement is being wrongly viral.
