Facebook’s major achievement, all messaging apps will now be integrated

Facebook is working on integrating all messaging apps, including Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp.

Now it seems to be working on it fast and WhatsApp references have been added in the new beta version of FB Messenger.

According to WABetaInfo, a site that monitors WhatsApp updates, reverse engineer @Alex193a discovered these features in the new version of Facebook Messenger.

This is likely the beginning of a long process of merging WhatsApp and Messenger.

The obvious difference between the two messaging apps is that WhatsApp chats are stored on the device and equipped with end-to-end encryption, while there are no ads.

This is the reason why currently WhatsApp account can only be used on one device at a time.

The references currently appearing in Facebook Messenger are related to managing messages and services.

It also mentions other features that will help Facebook Messenger understand WhatsApp users like blocking, push notification from WhatsApp and chatter details.

Message content will not be shared with Facebook servers and new protocols will need to be introduced in Messenger for cross-chat between Messenger and WhatsApp.

It’s not clear what kind of server Facebook will use to aggregate data from all apps across devices, since users can currently send or receive messages from multiple devices simultaneously in Facebook Messenger.

This is just the beginning, so there is a possibility of many changes going forward.
