It has been revealed that the Marina Bay Circuit, the stage of the F1 Singapore Grand Prix, will appear as a multiplayer map in the latest work of the upcoming game “Call of Duty”.

Call of Duty is one of the most-played video games of all time with numerous titles released over the last 20 years. Later this year, the latest installment, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, will be released with playable maps familiar to F1 and racing fans.

The Singapore Grand Prix, which joined the F1 calendar in 2008 as the first night race in F1 history, has been held annually with the exception of 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. In the game, 6 players play against each other in 6vs6 mode, where firefights take place under the same floodlights as in the Grand Prix.

The game’s developer, Infinity Ward, said, “Modern Warfare II Beta features a variety of meticulously designed maps of varying sizes, and modes, progressions, and more that will be revealed more fully in Call of Duty: Next. Experience, and an equally impressive set of other aspects, set to feature a robust multiplayer experience beyond the Core 6v6 experience.”

“Additionally, Champs has released aerial footage of one of the 6v6 multiplayer maps confirmed in the beta, the Marina Bay Grand Prix, where battles take place inside the main infield of the urban race circuit.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be released in beta in early September and the game will be fully released later this year on October 28th.
