F1: Oscar Piastri claimed his first win at the Hungarian Grand Prix

The Australian, from the McLaren team, started in second place and ended up snatching the first position from his teammate Lando Norris in a controversial finish.

In a race where strategy was the main ingredient, Oscar Piastri (McLaren) took first place in the Hungarian Grand Prix. The podium was completed by his teammate Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes Benz). In the end, the drivers of the orange cars were involved in controversy, as the engineers had to repeatedly ask the Briton to give up his place to the Australian. Find out all the details.

At the start, the drivers were very aggressive in trying to get past, which would later prove difficult during the race. It should be noted that at the Hungaroring it is not easy to overtake the car in front, so qualifying and a good or bad start could mean a lot. On the first lap, Lando Norris, who had taken pole position on Saturday morning, dropped back to third behind Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri.

Throughout the race, the McLaren team held firm and adopted a good strategy when changing tyres, which allowed them to stay in the top two positions for most of the race. For his part, Max Verstappen had problems getting past the orange cars and could be heard very angry on several occasions while talking to the engineers on the radio.

The end of the race was bittersweet for McLaren, as although they took first and second place, which puts them in a very good position for the Constructors’ Championship, they had to repeatedly order Lando Norris to let Oscar Piastri pass. The Australian had overtaken him at the start, so in a way he earned the right to take first place from his teammate at the end of the race.
