F1 Official: 2021 Race BEST 5[F1-Gate .com]selected by fan voting

F1 official website conducts fan voting on the best race of the 2021 F1 World Championship. Announced the top five.

The 2021 F1 World Championship was held in 22 races, the largest number in history, and many dramas were produced in the process of entwining the title battle until the final race. Formula1.com conducts fan voting. Introduced the top 5 races of 2021 selected by 52,000 people.

5th place: F1 Hungarian GP (7%)
The F1 Hungarian Grand Prix was the most chaotic in the 2021 season. At the start, Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes F1) caused multiple crashes, Max Verstappen (Red Bull Honda) was involved and the car was severely damaged, and teammate Sergio Perez retired. The weather also complicated the problem, and all drivers except Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) pitted to abandon the intermediate as they returned to the grid and restarted on the formation lap. As a result, only one Lewis Hamilton restarted from the grid and fell to the end following pitting in the slick tires on the next lap. Esteban Ocon of Alpine F1 took the lead. At the end of the race, Fernando Alonso blocked Lewis Hamilton, who had been recovering to help his teammates win, for several laps. Ocon won his first F1 victory.

4th place: F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix (8%)
Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) and Max Verstappen (Red Bull Honda) crashed at high speed in a puncture on Pirelli’s tires in a race at the Baku City Circuit in June. At that time Verstappen was leading the race and was hit hard by the title battle. However, rival Lewis Hamilton accidentally changed the brake settings when the race restarted and went straight on turn 1. Hamilton also finished the race with no points. As a result, Red Bull Honda’s Sergio Perez took over the lead and won his first victory following the transfer.

3rd place: F1 Fragil GP (10%)
Lewis Hamilton’s “rocket engine” drove his spectacular performance at Interlagos. Hamilton, who was disqualified from the qualifying due to a violation of the vehicle regulations by the rear wing DRS, moved up to 5th place from the end in the sprint qualifying. Hamilton, who started the final from the 10th grid by demoting to 5 grids due to engine replacement, won the championship with a difference of 10 seconds or more over Max Verstappen. I showed the trademark recovery drive.

2nd place: F1 Abu Dhabi GP (16%)
Title candidates Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton have reached the final round of the season at the same point for the first time in 47 years since 1974. Verstappen took pole position, but Hamilton took the lead at the start and led most of the race. Even the fierce defense of Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez mightn’t bring Verstappen back to the battlefield, and Hamilton comfortably controlled the race. But the safety car on the verge of being a race prisoner changed everything. Verstappen made a pit stop and returned in 2nd place with new software. He overtook Hamilton on the final lap to win his first F1 World Champion in his career.

1st place: F1 Italian GP (19%)
The F1 Italian Grand Prix in Monza was the setting for the second trial of the sprint qualifying format and eventually became the “McLaren Show” on the weekends. Daniel Ricciardo, who started from the 2nd grid, took the lead at the start and held Max Verstappen in the early stages. And on the 25th lap, the biggest turbulence of the day will come. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), who had pitted out, and Max Verstappen (Red Bull Honda), who had finished changing tires one lap ago, rushed into the first corner side by side. Verstappen on the in side and Hamilton on the out side come into contact, and Verstappen stops as he rides on Hamilton’s machine. Two people competing for the title have disappeared. Ricardo is his first career win at McLaren. Teammate Lando Norris followed in second place, marking McLaren’s 1-2 finish since F1 Canada in 2010.
