Tom Garfinkel, head of the F1 Miami GP, laughed at an online joke about the fake marina of the Miami International Autodrome.
At first glance, the new Grand Prix truck, which will host the Grand Prix of Miami this weekend, looks like a marina full of yachts. This is a normal sight at most Grand Prix near the sea.
However, the Miami International Autodrome isn’t really near the ocean, and the marina is completely inland.
Even more unusual, there is no water in the marina. Instead, the moored boats and yachts are actually moored on the trailer, and fake plywood paint makes the boat appear to be underwater.
This fake marina has caused a lot of jokes on social media, and posters despise the idea. F1 officials took a picture of themselves “walking on the water” and anointed them for fun.
But Tom Garfinkel said he was pleased that people were talking about the marina and that the intention of the event was never too serious.
“We don’t take it very seriously. You know we enjoy it, right?” Said Tomi Garfankel.
Tom Garfankel explained why it was decided to build a fake marina and revealed that he wanted to respect his promises at the planning stage.
“When we first saw downtown, F1 had the idea of wanting an aerial shot of a yacht in downtown,” said Tom Garfankel.
“We moved here for several reasons. Most importantly, we didn’t think there was a good race circuit in downtown.”
“I told F1’I’m going to take a shot of the yacht. I can take the yacht.’ They were looking at me as if I were a crazy person.”
“I came back and drew it on the whiteboard and said,’I want a marina with a yacht here, so I’m going to do it.’ And we’ve done it!”
Tom Garfinkel went on to explain the idea of a plywood “water” marina to enjoy the fact that internet memes are cheerful and fun to put in.
“It’s a lot of fun. I think people are enjoying it,” said Tom Garfankel.
“I think people watching the race behind the yacht are fun. People just put a little bit of stuff in it. I think it’s funny and great. We don’t take it too seriously. We enjoy it. I’m trying “
“People say we’ve created a great race circuit for great races, and then people come here and have a great time first.”
