Formula 1 has issued a warning to fans, stating that any tickets purchased through resale channels for the highly-anticipated F1 75 launch event will be rendered invalid following an astonishing 45-minute sell-out.
The organization is making significant changes for the F1 2025 launch season. Rather than the conventional, individual car launches held by each team, this year all ten teams will come together under one roof—the O2 arena in London—on February 18, 2025, to showcase their F1 2025 liveries in a unified celebration marking Formula 1’s 75th anniversary.
F1 cautions fans on resale tickets
This innovative initiative has been met with enthusiastic approval from the Formula 1 fan community, as ticket sales kicked off on Friday morning and were completely snapped up within just 45 minutes.
However, shortly thereafter, resale tickets began cropping up on third-party websites, with some listings demanding prices that were approximately ten times greater than the original ticket prices, which ranged between £58 and £113.
In response to this situation, Formula 1 has made it clear that these resale tickets will not be accepted for entry at the event, emphasizing that many of them are counterfeit as well.
“We are aware that a few tickets for our season launch event at The O2 have been listed on unofficial resale websites,” reads a statement issued by F1.
“We can confirm that this practice violates our terms and conditions of sale, and any tickets purchased through unauthorized resale platforms will not be valid for entry. We strongly recommend that fans purchase tickets exclusively through theo2.co.uk or via AXS Official Resale.”

One individual who has expressed little enthusiasm for this upcoming event is Red Bull’s racing star, Max Verstappen, who is on the verge of solidifying his fourth World Championship title in F1 2024.
As he aspires to clinch a fifth title next year, Verstappen appears to be more focused on his racing than the F1 75 launch event, going so far as to joke about a potential illness during the week of the celebration.
During a recent streaming session while playing Call of Duty, the event was casually mentioned, prompting Verstappen’s dismissive response: “What is F1 75? What are you talking about?” After learning more, he sighed heavily and quipped, “I don’t watch any F1… I hope I’m sick that week.”
Notably, F1 2025 will mark the concluding season under the current regulations, with the anticipated F1 2026 season poised to bring in new changes, including the introduction of smaller, lighter cars by 30 kg and innovative power units that will feature an even split between electrical energy and an internal combustion engine fueled by completely sustainable biofuels.
What unique experiences will fans have at the F1 2025 launch event beyond the car unveilings?
**Interview with Sarah Thompson, Director of Fan Engagement at Formula 1**
**Editor:** Good afternoon, Sarah. Thanks for joining us today to discuss the F1 75 launch event and the ticketing situation. First off, can you tell us about the significance of this year’s launch event?
**Sarah Thompson:** Absolutely! This launch event is particularly special as it marks the 75th anniversary of Formula 1. For the first time, all ten teams will gather under one roof at the O2 arena in London to showcase their new liveries for the F1 2025 season. It’s a celebration not just of the upcoming season but of our rich history in motorsport.
**Editor:** The event sold out in an astonishing 45 minutes! What do you attribute this incredible demand to?
**Sarah Thompson:** The response has been overwhelming, and we believe it’s a testament to the passion and excitement of our fans. The format of this event, bringing all teams together, has resonated significantly with our audience who enjoy seeing the collective spirit of Formula 1. Plus, it coincides with our milestone anniversary, which naturally draws more interest.
**Editor:** However, with success also comes challenges. We’ve seen numerous resale tickets popping up online at much higher prices. What’s your response to that?
**Sarah Thompson:** We are very concerned about this situation. We would like to warn all fans that any tickets purchased through resale channels will be rendered invalid. Many of these tickets are counterfeit, posing a significant risk to fans hoping to attend. We strongly advise everyone to purchase tickets only through official outlets.
**Editor:** That’s a crucial message. What steps are being taken to ensure fans don’t fall victim to these unauthorized resales?
**Sarah Thompson:** We are closely monitoring the resale market and are working with authorities to address any fraudulent activities. In addition, we’re using technology to validate tickets at the door, ensuring only those with legitimate tickets can gain entry. We want to create a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees.
**Editor:** Looking ahead, what can fans expect from the F1 2025 launch event apart from the car unveilings?
**Sarah Thompson:** Beyond the liveries, we are planning a variety of interactive experiences for fans in attendance. There will be opportunities to meet team members, engage with simulators, and much more. Our aim is to create a festive atmosphere that honors our legacy while looking forward to the future of the sport.
**Editor:** Thank you, Sarah, for sharing these insights. It sounds like an event not to be missed, and we appreciate your efforts in keeping fans informed.
