Lando Norris had a great performance at the Dutch Grand Prix this Sunday. At Max Verstappen’s home base, the McLaren driver claimed his second win of the season. The performance brought him closer to the Dutchman in the Formula 1 World Championship.

Qualifying this Saturday was impressive; Lando Norris (McLaren) takes third pole position of the year at Dutch Grand Prix ahead of Max Verstappen (Red Bull). It was the fourth of the Briton’s career, although he had never won a race at the start in front of all the competitors. It was a scenario that seemed to repeat itself from the start at home, with the reigning world champion stealing first place in front of the crowd. But as time gradually accelerated, Lando Norris finally recovered on lap 18, delaying the braking in the turn until the last moment.

The McLaren driver then confirmed the good character he displayed throughout the weekend at the hilly circuit of Zandvoort. He easily extended his lead to hold Max Verstappen back by twenty seconds! At his home base where he has won the past three grands prix, the Batavian had to settle for second place ahead of Charles Leclerc (Ferrari). There were no major disturbances during the race on a track where overtaking was not a frequent occurrence. Oscar Piastri (McLaren) finished fourth ahead of Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz in the final. We then spotted Sergio Perez (Re Bull) standing in front of the two Mercedes cars of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.

Norris closes gap on Verstappen

Pierre Gasly (Alpine) finished the Dutch Grand Prix in ninth place after starting from 10th on the grid, with Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) taking the final allocated points. In the Formula One World Championship, Lando Norris (225) scores 70 ahead of Max Verstappen (295) with his second success of the season After Miami. Charles Leclerc remains in third place (192 points). Oscar Piastri is fourth (179 points), seven strokes ahead of Carlos Sainz. Pierre Gasly finished 14th with 8 units.
