F1 2024 ranking – The championship after the Japanese GP

Max Verstappen set the record straight at Suzuka: two weeks after his retirement in Australia, the Dutchman scored his third victory of the season during the Japanese GP. The three-time reigning world champion resumes his march forward, just like Red Bull, author of a new double with second place for Sergio Pérez. After his victory in Melbourne, Carlos Sainz continued with a new podium, his third in three races.

In the championship, this victory allows Max Verstappen (77 points) to regain some breathing space in the championship ahead of Sergio Pérez (64 points) and Charles Leclerc (59 points). Thanks to his 5th place at Suzuka, Lando Norris (37 points) climbs to 5th place ahead of his teammate Oscar Piastri (32 points).

Among the Manufacturers, thanks to this third double, Red Bull (141 points) is back ahead of Ferrari (120 points), while a big gap has formed between the two Top teams and the rest of the peloton. McLaren (69 points) is already 51 points behind in 3rd place.
