At the starting point, the mountain is revealed in the distance. Along the most popular path of the cirque, 1,500 meter cliffs, lush vegetation, and even a few piles of snow still suspended in the rock. In winter, the shades of green fade, and the cirque dons its white coat. In summer, no snowshoes, but a good hour and a half of walking to finally reach the reward: one of the highest waterfalls in Europe. And this is the best time to observe it. At the moment, the flow is at its maximum, with the melting snow and the heavy rains in recent weeks, the waterfall is majestic, especially when you approach it. A monumental waterfall that gushes out in a setting steeped in history. The other witness to the immensity of these cliffs nests in these cavities. The bearded vulture, one of the largest birds of prey in Europe, can measure up to 2.90 metres in wingspan, but it is not so easy to observe it, unless you wait for the right moment. Long hunted, this bone-eater is now protected here. TF1 | Report S. Petit, M. Larradet
