PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) appealed to coffee farmers to continue to improve their skills and knowledge in developing local coffee. This is because coffee has become Indonesia’s leading export product that is in demand by various groups.

PNM Corporate Secretary, L. Dodot Patria Ary, is aware of the potential of PNM’s fostered customers to be able to boost Indonesia’s trade volume abroad through coffee sales.

One of them is Didik Suryadi, a coffee farmer from Situbondo who has a shop called Waroeng Kopi Kayumas.

Some time ago, Didik had the opportunity to participate in a coffee training and research program initiated by the Italian Embassy in Jakarta.

This is not only beneficial for increasing knowledge, but also has the potential to support bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Italy in the coffee sector.

Dodot assessed that not many local coffee farmers are aware of the need to expand their networks to be able to boost sales of micro and ultra-micro businesses.

Therefore, he appealed to local coffee farmers to continue to improve their capacity and their products so that they can meet export standards.

“Local Indonesian coffee has been widely glanced at and loved by people from other countries. So it is important to prepare yourself, participate to further introduce typical Indonesian coffee and the first key is in local farmers,” said Dodot.

Dodot appreciates Didik’s activeness who now often receives customers from Italy at his coffee shop. He is not surprised, because Kopi Kayumas is also included in PNM’s superior customer products that are often included in various activities.

Dodot hopes that what Didik has done can be an example for other ultra-micro and micro customers to become more aware and develop their business potential.

Didik also expressed his gratitude to PNM for providing assistance for his coffee business.

He hopes that Kayumas Coffee will be increasingly popular with foreign tourists so that coffee farmers in Indonesia will not only be farmers in the fields but echoers in the global arena. (Adv)
