The National Hurricane Center based in Miami (NHC) has just issued its morning advisory on the development and future path of Hurricane Milton, which is heading towards the Tampa area in Florida, United States, but already leaves floods in Cuba.

According to the report, at 4:00 a.m. in Florida, Hurricane Milton remains a catastrophic threat as it remains a category 5 on the Saffir-Simpson scale at that time.

Milton is moving northeast at 22 km/h, with sustained winds up to 260 km/h (160 mph) and stronger gusts.

The hurricane is expected to make landfall on Florida’s Gulf Coast, specifically in the west-central area, late tonight or early Thursday morning.

As it moves, it is forecast to turn east-northeast and then east between Thursday and Friday, moving away from the Florida coast and moving toward the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday afternoon.
