Extrovert and saxophonist in Prague again. What influence does Bill Clinton have on America today? • RESPECT

On Tuesday, the Czech Republic commemorated the 25th anniversary of joining NATO. On this occasion, President Petr Pavel presented the former President of the United States, Bill Clinton, with the Order of Tomáš Garrigua Masaryk, 1st Class – for his services to the development of democracy and for his contribution to the fact that the Czech Republic and other countries became members of the North Atlantic Alliance. Clinton called it the best thing that might have happened. In the case of the Czech Republic, this was due not only to its foreign minister and Czech native Madeleine Albright, but also to Clinton’s admiration for Václav Havel. His visit to Prague in 1994 became memorable, for example, by visiting the U Zlatého tygra pub or playing a donated saxophone in the Reduta. What was Clinton like as a politician and what is he like as a person? How do Americans perceive their ex-president at present? And does it still have any effect? Barbora Chaloupková and Jiří Sobota answer that too in Výtah Respekt.
